

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s field visit to 3 regions (Northern, Central, and Northeastern regions) during August 15-19, 2024.
Government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke disclosed about Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s field visit to 3 regions (Northern, Central, and Northeastern regions) during August 15-19, 2024, and his chairing of the cabinet retreat on August 20, 2024, followed by continued field visits until the end of the month. The Prime Minister’s schedule is as follows:

PM :attend the MLC meeting in Chiang Mai On August 15-16
On August 15-16, the PM is schedule to attend the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) meeting in Chiang Mai, and will travel to Pathum Thani, Nakhon Nayok, and Sara Buri provinces on August 17 to follow up on tourism promotion. On August 18, he will head to Chai Nat, Sing Buri, and Ang Thong provinces to observe water drainage operation in preparation for the upcoming flood season.
PM visits Pathum Thani to inspect flood barriers on August 19
On August 19, the Prime Minister will travel to Pathum Thani province’s Muang district to inspect flood barriers and Bang Sai- Bang Ban Canals for water diversion into the sea. He will also visit the flood retention area at Miyazawa intersection in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, and the industrial estates that were previously affect by flooding in 2011 and 2022. On August 20, the Prime Minister is schedule to chair the cabinet retreat to be held in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, and will travel to Tak province’s Mae Sot district on August 21 to follow up on solutions to border security issues, particularly call center gangs, and smuggling of illicit drugs.
Visit Chiang Rai: follow up on the fight against call center gangs on August 22
On August 22, the Prime Minister is schedule to travel to Chiang Rai province to follow up on the fight against call center gangs and hybrid scams and smuggling of illicit drugs along the border area, and promotion of border trade, before heading to
Chiang Mai on August 23 to observe local agencies’ operation against PM2.5 particulates, and tourism-related preparation in the upcoming high season. Lastly, on August 31, he will travel to Nakhon Phanom and Beungkan provinces to follow up on anti-drugs smuggling operation along the border area, promotion of border trade, and mitigation of people’s plights in the Upper Northeastern region.
According to the Government Spokesperson, the prime minister places great importance on tangible achievements in accordance with the Government’s various policies, and personally follows up on the implementation to address such major issues as tourism, water management, PM2.5 particulates, call center gangs and hybrid scams, illicit drugs, and border trade, as well as mitigation of people’s plights in all areas across the country.
