

PM Srettha will talk PM’s Malaysia on promote peace and development of southern border provinces of Thailand and northern States of Malaysia.

Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke disclosed that Mr Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Dato’ Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim.
Prime Minister of Malaysia, will pay a working visit to Su-ngai Kolok, Narathiwat province, Thailand and Rantau Panjang, State of Kelantan, Malaysia, on 3 August 2024, to discuss issues of mutual interest.
This meeting between the PM of Thailand and Malaysia will build on the previous joint field visit to Sadao of Thailand and Bukit Kayu Hitam of Malaysia in November 2023 and the latest bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Nikkei Forum 29th Future of Asia in Tokyo on 23 May 2024.
The objective of this joint field visit by the Prime Ministers of the two countries is to show a strong commitment by both leaders to work together to promote peace and development of southern border provinces of Thailand and northern states of Malaysia for the benefit of the peoples on both sides of the border.

Both leaders will discuss ways to increase trade and investment, tourism and enhance cross-border connectivity, especially the Project for Upgrading of Bridge linking Su-ngai Kolok, Narathiwat and Rantau Panjang, Kelantan.
On July 30, PM Srettha said about his field visit to the south on August 3, 2024 that he will be meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister to discuss about the issues of border security and dual citizenship.
PM met with concern security agencies on July 31 to prepare for the meeting with the Malaysian counterpart. Minister of Interior and the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army will be among the PM’s delegation in his visit to the South this Saturday.
