PM Sreetha Thavisin posted in. “X” that “Sangkhlaburi, a small serene town of Thailand along the border with Myanmar, is one of the untapped tourist destinations. It is surrounded by jungle, mountains and rivers of the Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the biggest wildlife sanctuary in the country, and is rich with mixed culture of ancient Burmese (Mon) and Thai making it an exotic eco-cultural tourist destination.”

“The two must-visit places are the Underwater Temple (Wat Luang Pho Uttama) and the Mon Woonden Bridge (Uttamanusorn Bridge), which is the second longest wooden bridge in the world.”

Kanchaburi province is one among four provinces that the PM to visit between May 11-14. They included   Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Phetchaburi. The mobile cabinet will be held at Phetchaburi on May 14.

Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke said a traveling  to Uttamanusorn Bridge (Mon Bridge), Sangkhlaburi District. Kanchanaburi of the premier is an attempt of the government on driving Thai tradition, religion, and cultural tourism. 

Those are an important  soft power which the  government aims to promote in order to increase potential  in the area.

“If the government can attract more tourists both Thai and foreigners to travel in the areas. It can creat more jobs and sustainable income for the people in the area. It will also assist to preserve the Thai traditional culture.” Said Mr Chai.
