promotes Thai content industry in Shanghai

Thailand Film Office (TFO), and Thai Trade Center, Shanghai, led Thai entrepreneurs to attend the 26th edition of Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF),

as well as organized sideline events inShanghai.

On 15 June 2024, a business networking under the title: “Creativity Unleash: Strengthening Thailand and China’s Partnership in Film and Content Industry,” was held at the Royal Thai Consulate-General,Shanghai to strengthen the relations between Thai and Chinese entrepreneurs in the film industry after the first edition in Beijing in April 2024. 14 Thai companies presented their film-related undertakings to the participating 57 Chinese counterparts/companies.

During 16 – 18 June 2024, the Thai Pavilion in the film market of the Shanghai International Film Festival proactively promoted the Thai content industry and filming opportunities in Thailand, which amounted to a total investment value of over 2,240 million baht.

Furthermore, four Thai films were select to be screen at the festival, namely The Undertaker,

NOT FRIENDS, Home for Rent, and Mantra Warrior: The Legend of the Eight Moons. The Undertaker and NOT FRIENDS were screen at the Thai Movie Premiere Night event co-host

by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai on 14 June 2024 at Hongqiao Art Center and attract a large number of Chinese media representatives and locals.This project is part of Thailand’s cultural diplomacy aiming to advance Thailand’s popularity at the global level,

especially in the content industry, provide opportunities for Thai private sectors abroad,

and strengthen the long-lasting Thailand-China relations especially at the people-to-people level.
