

The government planed to conduct 800,000 billion baht of the central budget in fiscal budget 2025. The central budget also is prepared to use in rehabilitation for disasters.
The government planned to allocate some central budget to use in the second phase of the digital wallet. The government has yet made a decision whether to further the second phase of the digital wallet scheme.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has ordered the creation of a national centre to monitor the flood situation across the country, as well as two new agencies to coordinate the flood response and post-flood recovery.

Ms Paetongtarn said that compensation payments under the existing criteria are not proportionate to the extensive damage caused by flooding in several provinces.
Compensation should be speedy and sensible. Compensation amounts are restrict by the existing criteria, but the damage is very considerable. The criteria need to be revise to ensure more compensation.
Since Aug 16, about 130,000 people have been affect by floods in the North, Northeast and parts of the Central Plains, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. Affected provinces include Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Nong Khai, Loei, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, and Prachin Buri.
The situation is expect to deteriorate further, with more rain set to come over the next two weeks, worsening the inundation and risk of landslides in affect areas, according to the Meteorological Department, Hydro-Informatics Institute and Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency.
Heavy downpours and strong winds were forecast for the North, Northeast, Central Plain including Greater Bangkok, the East and South from Sept 19 to 23.

The cabinet approved 3 billion baht in budget for flood relief
September 17, 2024, Government House, following the weekly ocabinet meeting, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra disclose that the cabinet has made approval to the proposal of Ministry of Interior on criteria for budget disbursement for flood relief to be given to people affect by flood disaster during the rainy season of 2024. It also approved the allocation of the central budget (FY2024), at the total amount of 3,045 million baht, and ordered the Ministry to expedite and streamline the disbursement process, as well as related documentations, to ensure prompt assistance to be provided to the people.
The cabinet also ordered all concerned agencies to urgently plan for flood relief measures, in addition to existing measures. Plans and measures that need to be approve by the cabinet must be proceed in a timely manner to speed up relief and remedy to flood-affected victims. Concern agencies were also order to enhance efficiency of disaster warning system.
According to the Prime Minister, the Flood, Storm, and Landslide Relief Operations Center met on September 18 to discuss timeframe for remedies and financial assistance. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Phumtham Wechayachai, as chair of the operations center met on September Thursday(19) to establish two working committee to amend criteria of relief measure. The Government also plan to discuss with the neighboring countries, especially ones along the Mekong River, on water drainage cooperation.

(1) Road surface cleaning on Highway 1 in front of Mae Sai border checkpoint;
(2) Clearing of weeds that block the passage of the first bridge over Mae Sai River by Chiang Rai Highway District 1;
(3) Water service resumed at Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital;
(4) Delivery of water to Fort Mengrai Maharat Hospital;
(5) construction of Bailey steel bridge on Highway 1338, Kha Yaeng-Pa Miang, at km 9+650, Chiang Rai province;
(6) construction of Bailey steel bridge on Highway 1093, Khun Huai Khrai-Pha Tang, at km 80+185, Chiang Rai ; and
(7) construction of Bailey steel bridge on Highway 1098, Tha Khao Pluek-Kaen Tai, at km 18+366-km 18+446, Chiang Rai.
