การระบาดเริ่มทรงตัว

ขณะที่ในสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมาการแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโควิค-19 ในประเทศจีนเริ่มทรงตัว โดยมียอดผู้เสียชีวิตทั่วโลกในขณะนี้อยู่ที่ 2,128 คน ในจำนวนนี้เป็นผู้เสียชีวิตในมณฑลหูเป่ยเพิ่มขึ้น 108 คน เมื่อเช้าวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 20 กุมภาพันธ์ ที่ผ่านมา ในขณะที่มีผู้ป่วยที่รักษาหายและกลับบ้านในมณฑลหู่เป่ยแล้วจำนวน 10,330 คน โดยมีผู้ป่วยพักอยู่ในโรงพยาบาลจำนวน 43,000 คน ในจำนวนนี้ 2,050 คนเป็นผู้ป่วยในภาวะวิกฤติที่เจ้าหน้าที่ต้องดูแลอย่างใกล้ชิด

ระบาดหนักนอกประเทศจีน

ในสิงคโปร์อัตราการติดเชื้อยังคงเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องโดยมีผู้ได้รับการยืนยันถึง 84 ราย ในทำนองเดียวกันในฮ่องกงมีผู้ป่วยติดเชื้อและได้รับการยืนยันแล้ว 63 คนและผู้เสียชีวิต 2 ราย

ส่วนประเทศญี่ปุ่น ได้รับความสนใจจากทั่วโลกในขณะนี้เมื่อตรวจพบผู้ป่วยจากเรือสำราญ Diamond Princess และพบผู้ป่วยอีก 68 รายที่ยืนยันแล้วว่าไม่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องใดๆ กับเรือสำราญดังกล่าว การกักกันผู้โดยสารบนเรือสำราญ Diamond Princess ของญี่ปุ่น สิ้นสุดเมื่อวันพุธที่ 19 กุมภาพันธ์ที่ผ่านมา และได้รับการยืนยันเมื่อเช้าวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 20 กุมภาพันธ์ว่าผู้ป่วยติดเชื้อไวรัสโควิค-19 จากเรือสำราญที่มีอยู่มากกว่าร้อยคนได้เสียชีวิตแล้ว 2 คน

เคน ทาโรอิวาตะ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านโรคติดเชื้อที่มหาวิทยาลัยโกเบ ได้ขึ้นมาตรวจสอบบนเรือ Diamond Princess กล่าวกับผู้สื่อข่าว ซีเอ็นเอ็น ว่า เขากังวลอย่างมากเกี่ยวกับประสิทธิภาพของการกักกันและข้อควรระวังที่เกิดขึ้นบนเรือ

” ฉันกลัวมากเพราะไม่มีวิธีบอกได้ว่าไวรัสอยู่ที่ไหนและทุกคนก็ไม่ระวัง” อิวาตะ กล่าว “และไม่มีคนควบคุมการติดเชื้อในเรือ”
